    深圳市九年制义务教育小学英语课本(朗文版)第九册Unit 3 A Rainy Weekend Part I Further Reading 是一篇单元主题阅读拓展材料。本篇阅读紧密围绕本单元主题——谈论与天气有关的活动为线索拓展,通过介绍中国4个地方的气候及地域特点,展现中国地大物博,气候多样化。文章运用现在时态描述中国海南岛、吐鲁番、黄山和广东的天气特征、在当地可进行的活动和自然景观,不但向学生展示了中国美丽的山河景观和独特的地域特征,而且能激发学生们的热爱自然的热情,培养其热爱家园的意识。

    1. 本课时的学习者是小学五年级的跨越式实验班的学生,经过四年多的学习,他们熟悉了跨越式教学的模式,同桌两两之间配合默契,听说水平较高、交际能力较强;

    2. 学生们对英语学习保持着浓厚的兴趣,能积极主动地参加各种课堂教学的活动;学生对表示天气的词语,如sunny 、rainy、snowy等有一定的了解和接触。

    • 教学策略

    1.任务教学驱动法

    本课时主要采用任务教学法,引导学生通过阅读来了解中国几个地方的天气及景物,教师提出阅读任务,学生带着问题去阅读学习。

    2.创设情境、“读”与“说”相结合的交际型的阅读教学法

    本课的主题是some places and weather,学生通过热身两两对话到阅读学习课本Further Reading,掌握快速阅读的一些方法与策略,再完成老师网络资源拓展对话和语篇阅读,其间设计了难度不同的交际任务要求学生听读后两两自由说,不仅有效及时地检查了学生阅读的情况,也训练学生综合运用语言的能力。

    3.信息技术与英语学科整合的方法

    本节课信息技术成为资源呈现工具、创设情境的工具,成为提供丰富资源,为阅读教学创设了情景真实、资源丰富的学习环境,从而让“交际型”的网络阅读教学取代了传统的“机械习题讲解式”的阅读教学。

    要求:学生同桌间两两自由对话,请2-3对同学口语对话。

    设计意图:以学生对熟悉的hometown进行讨论引入本课时所学的话题, 并复习已学询问天气和表达喜爱like的句型。

    1. 要求学生看课文Flash 动画一遍,并跟读一遍;
    2. 学生自己快速阅读课文,完成以下表格;

    设计意图:训练学生Skinning的阅读技巧,让学生在较短的时间内能获取主要的信息,并能根据问题寻求答案。问题的设置相对比较简单,目的在于增强学生对文章的初步理解和对主题的整体把握。这样不仅能培养学生自主阅读的习惯, 而且能增强其阅读分析能力。

    Detail Reading。(4-6分钟)

    要求学生细读文章,两两讨论所提问题。

    1. What can we do in Hainan?

    2. Why Tulufan is hot?

    3. Is Huangshan a famous river? What is it?

    4. What can we see on typhoon weather?

    请4组学生两两一问一答进行检查其讨论结果。教师梳理全文,引导学生说出全文的main idea, weather in Chinese city,并总结快速阅读时要注意技巧、方法,如the first and last paragraph of passage, the first sentence of the paragraph。

    设计意图:学生通过细读文章加深对文本的理解,通过对老师所提问题的两两讨论,增强他们的理解分析能力和交流能力。

    Reading the sources in the computer --- 2Dialogues。(3分钟)

    学生打开电脑登陆跨越网络平台,找到跨越资源,进行自主听读,戴上耳机跟着录音大声朗读对话。

    Dialogue9:

    John: Hi, Julie. Holiday is over. What did you do this vocation?

    Julie: Haha. Very interesting. I went to Hainan Island and had lots of fun there. I played on the

    beach, swan in the sea and saw the sunset. It was really beautiful. What about you?

    John: I went to Shanghai.

    Julie: How did you go there?

    John: I went there by plane and went back by train. Shanghai is a very big and famous city. A lot of people travel there very year.

    Julie: what is the weather like there in summer?

    John: It’s a little hot. Sometimes it rain.

    Julie: Where did you visit then?

    John: I visited Liu Garden(园林), Xi Garden And East Pearl Towel (东方明珠塔). The Garden

    there is very beautiful and very different from other places.

    Julie: Really. I hope(希望)I can visit it one day.

    Dialogue 10

    Harry: Hi, Mandy. It’s getting cold today. What’s the temperature today?

    Mandy: It’s between 4℃ (degree centigrade) and 10℃. You should wear more clothes.

    Harry: That’s right. I feel a little cold now.

    Mandy: Do you see the weather report today? Places in China have different kinds of weather. In

    Hainan Island, the temperature today is between 24℃ and 28℃. People wear T-shirt and shorts

    there. Some of them swim in the sea and enjoy themselves. Some of them play on the beach and

    make a big sandcastle.  While (然而) in Harbin, the temperature today is between 1℃ and 5℃.

    It’s very cold there.

    Harry: Really? People there must wear thick clothes and keep warm.

    Mandy: Right. But it’s also interesting. Children there can make a snowman, play snowballs and

    go skiing.

    Harry: If I have a chance(机会), I want to travel there.

    设计意图:阅读相关话题,向学生渗透一些与weather, places of interest, travel相关的内容,拓展学生的视野,丰富学生的词汇与句型, 加强语言的输入量,为下面的Pair Work两两对话做好准备。

    设计意图:创设情景,设置任务,学生对话讨论。考察学生在阅读学习后,即大量的语言信息输入后考察学生运用所学输出语言的质量。

    1. Sydney is in Australia. You can see the Sydney Opera House (悉尼歌剧院)there. You can go inside it and see a show. It is near the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge(悉尼港湾大桥). You can walk over the top of the bridge.

    2. Hong Kong is also a city near a harbour(港口). In Hong Kong you can see the Bank of China building. It is 369 meters(米)high. It has beautiful lights at Christmas and Chinese New Year.

    3. New York is in the US. You can see the Statue of Liberty(自由神像) in the harbour. The statue was a present from the people of France. It welcomes people to America. You can go inside the statue and climb up.

    4. London is in the UK. It is a very old city. You can see Tower Bridge(塔桥)and the Tower of London(伦敦塔) there. Long ago, it was a prison(监狱). You can also see Big Ben(大本钟). It is a famous clock tower. It has a big bell inside.

    Reading 9

    1. China is very big. It has many different kinds of places of interest.

    2. Beijing is the capital of China. It is an old city with a long history, such as Palace Museum, the Great wall, Summer Palace and Tian’anmen Square. They are very famous and people like visiting them very much. From these places, you can learn a lot about China’s history.

    3. Harbin is a city in the north of China. It’s very cold in winter, but it’s very interesting. You should wear thick coats and boots. You can make a snowman, play snowball, and see the ice decoration there.

    4. Shenzhen is a city in south of China. It’s cool in winter and very hot in summer. It never snows. In October, Shenzhen is still hot and people wear T-shirt and shorts while Harbin begins to  snow and people wear thick coats and sweater there.

    Reading 10 Travel Suggestion

    Dear Paul,

      I am glad you are going to visit U.K. As you know, U.K. is a famous country with lots of places of interest. So you should bring your camera. Also, you must bring some good shoes, because we will walk a lot. we are going to see the Big Ben, visit the Tower of London and the Cambridge University. It’s going to be cold here, please pack more clothes. If you want to know more about the places, you can buy a map of U.K. in the bookshop. It will be helpful. I am looking forward to seeing you.

    Make a powerpoint to introduce some places of interest in China or in the world, four students in a group, each students at least introduce one place.

    设计意图:学生通过课堂上学习介绍世界和中国部分城市特点的文章,在课后以四人为一小组进行合作学习,制作PPT每人至少介绍一处风景名胜,既检查学生的学习效果也锻炼了学生的动手能力。

    本课时为在网络环境下的英语阅读教学课,教学目的明确,侧重点清晰,执教老师设计的课堂活动环环相扣,难度层层递进。本课容量非常丰富,如果不是亲身去课堂听课,很难相信徐老师在一节课中完成这些内容的教学。本课时充分体现了网络和信息技术的优势,通过创设情景真实、资源丰富的学习环境,让学生接受大量的阅读输入,用“交际型”的网络阅读教学取代了传统的英语阅读教学。

    在开展本课的教学过程中,徐老师首先由3分钟的Free Talk引入话题,学生阅读课文,两两讨论回答问题、完成表格和总结文段大意,理解学习课文共分配了8至10分钟,其他时间用在了学生的拓展说与拓展读上。在限定的3分钟内学生自主听读两篇对话,根据创设的情景同桌间两两对话进行交际运用;然后,学生在限定的5分钟内阅读三个篇幅较长的文段,大约有440个单词,介其介绍中国和世界的几个名胜,拓展学生的知识面,加强语言的输入,为后面学生交际输出做好准备;再次,学生进行听短文填空,强化一些重点词汇;最后学生根据话题进行5分钟的自由对话,教学由易到难,由浅到深,学生既有输入也有输出,且教师灵活地处理师生对话示范的时间,简单到位地示范,从而节省更多的时间来分配到学生自主听读上,处理得当。
