Here,I have not received any mail from you for a long while since we departed in the Normal School．How are you getting along with your work? September the first was very remarkable to me and it will be surely be unforgettable in my life．As the first lecture of my teaching career，I was really a little nervous although I prepared the lesson for several days．When I turned around to the chalkboard to write something，a bird suddenly flew into my classroom．All the pupils were shouting and a tall boy was so smart as to catch the bird．The boy gave the bird to me and asked me what the bird is．I told them it was a sparrow and it was very common here．Some pupils suggested killing the bird for food,but others were against it and they thought we should protect them because the bird ate pests for us．It was not until yesterday that I got to know the pupil who gave the opinion was Yong Meng．I showed the class the bird and asked them if it was lovely．At last we decided to set it free．Thanks to the bird，my first lesson：The World of Life，was very successful．
