Question:1.What do you think of Joan and Mulan?

                  2.How would you describe them?

A:Do you think that Joan of Arc was like Mulan?

B:Well,I suppose she was in some ways.They both went to war,didin't they?They both fought with men.They both won some battles.They  were both determined and devoted to their causes.They had to fight like that.

A:Yes,but they did it for different reasons,didn't they?Mulan didi it to help her father.So I think we could describe her as being very brave and warm-hearted.

B:Yes,she was.However,they both went to free their country from invaders.So I think Joan was equally brave and warm-hearted.

A:I think Joan was unlucky.After the war,Mulan went home again.She seemed to have been rather modest.Poor Joan was caught and the Church punished her for fighting like a man.

B:But she was honered in the end.The church made her a saint.Poor Mulan didn't receive any honour.

A:But she did live to go home again.And she is remembered and respected by the people.

B:I feel they must both have been very intelligent and clear-hearted.After all they both planned battles and won them.
