Reading47

A fox is trying to release himself from a trap. At last he loses his whole tail
At first he is ashamed to see the other foxes because he has no tail, but he determines to face his misfortune. He calls all the foxes to a meeting.
When they are together, the fox says that they should all do away with their tails.
He says that their tails are very inconvenient when they meet with their enemies.
He does not talk about any advantages of the tail. "You are right," says one of the older foxes, "but I don't think you would advise us to do away with our tails if you hadn't lost it yourself first."
