                   1.Meet Tommy      

Hello, my name is Tommy. I come from Sicily. It is part of Italy, a big island south of the mainland. It is a beautiful island. I live in a village on the coast. The sea is blue and I like to go fishing. In summer it is very hot and sometimes my family goes into the mountains as it is a bit cooler there.

The capital of Italy is Rome. It is a very old city full of famous buildings. St Peter's is a very big and beautiful church there.

Rome is very busy, but Milan is busier than Rome. It is in the north west ofItaly. Do you know its famous football team? Milan has a population of 4 millionpeople. People are busy working. Milan has a lot of factories, shops and banks.

Venice is on the sea, and people use boats, not bicycles or buses for transport. Venice is beautiful, with lovely, old bridges and buildings by the water, but it is colder than Sicily and has more rain. I am happy on my island — and we have very good pizzas!
