    My sad story

    "I am the last of my type. When the sea rose over some of the land and deserts became forests, we could not change quickly enough. Our numbers started to fall. As food became harder to find we fought and did stupid things. The environment went on changing and we went on dying. We went into the mountains and just managed to survive. Eight of us died after eating some poison. Scientists found the two remaining and brought us here. They put us in separate cages and spent a lot of time examining us—it was not very nice—and when we were in our cages we had nothing to do. My companion went crazy and died. I don't think I can survive much longer. I think I will be happy to go."
