In many countries people like to keep animals as pets. Different animals are popular in different countries. People in many countries keep dogs, cats and birds. Some people keep monkeys and snakes. In European countries many children like white mice, but their parents do not. Cats are easy to keep. They are very clean. They can look after themselves. They need food, of course, but if they have no food to eat, they can catch a mouse or a bird to eat. Birds are the most beautiful animals and some of them sing well, but they must have special food and fresh water every day, and their cages must be very clean. Some people keep fish. Different kinds of fishes have different colours - red, white, black, orange, green and so on. A few people keep dangerous animals. One woman keeps a lion. She calls it EIsa. Her sister keeps a tiger called Alsa. Dolphins are the most clever animals. They are friendly to people. They live in the sea, but they are not fish. They need a lot of water and they eat a lot of fish every day.
