Chinese Festivals   

  In China, we have lots of traditional festivals such as Spring Festival, Moon Festival,Dragon-Boat Festival, Double-Ninth Day, Double-Seventh Day, National Day and so on. Every Festival has its own features, and Chinese people think much of these festivals.
In Spring Festival, people will make beautiful paper-cuts and couplets. They will stick them to the windows and walls to bid farewell to the old year. Relatives and friends will visit each other to send good wishes. The Children can get red pockets from their elders. It is the most important festival for Chinese.
  Moon Festival falls on Aug. 15th. The moon is rather round that day, and that represents the reunion of the family members. On Moon Festival, the moon cake is the most popular food. Every family will buy many moon cakes to celebrate this festival. 
The Dragon Boat Festival, also called Double Fifth Festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth moon of the lunar calendar. It is one of the most important Chinese festivals. People will hold dragon boats match to memorize the greatest poet Qu Yuan, who fell into the Mi Luo River.
  The "Chong Yang Festival" is celebrated on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month, and it is known as the Double Ninth Festival. On the Double Ninth Festival, people customarily climb mountains, appreciate chrysanthemum flowers, drink chrysanthemum wine, and eat double-ninth cakes. The Double Ninth Festival is also a time for family get-togethers. It is an occasion to remember one's ancestors, the sacrifices they made and the hardships they underwent. 
  Double-Seventh Day of the seventh lunar month is the only Chinese festival devoted to love in the Lunar calendar. In the legend, it is a day for Niu Lang and ZHI nvs' gathing. They cross the Silver River for one day in a year to meet. 
Of course, there are many other traditional festivals for Chinese. I believe more and more foreign people will like these festivals and love China, too.
