Hoping to make a good impression in a job interview, my husband, Gene, bought a new suit, shirt and tie. On the big day, in the waiting room, he kept checking his clothes to make sure everything was perfect. Then the boss called him in. During the interview, Gene was making a point and, learning forward, laid his arm on the boss’s desk. Their eyes were immediately drawn to the price tag still attached to the sleeve of Gene’s new suit. “Well,” quipped(自嘲)my husband, “If I don’t get the job, at least I can take the suit back.”
