Seven Rabbits
Q: How many rabbits does the teacher want John to say?
The teacher asked John, “John, if I give you two rabbits and then two more rabbits and then two more rabbits, how many would you have?”
John said, “Seven”.
“Ok John,” the teacher said. “Let’s try it another way. If I gave you two apples, plus two more apples, plus two more. How many apples would you have?”
“Six,” Said John.
“Ok”, said the teacher. “Now if I gave you two rabbits, then two more rabbits, then two more rabbits, How many would you have?”
“Seven, teacher,” John said.
“Why seven?” the teacher asked angrily.
John said, “Because I already have one rabbit at home!”
“Ok John,” the teacher said. “ Let’s try it another way. If I gave you two apples, plus two more apples, plus two more apples. How many apples would you have?”
“Six.” John said.
“Ok”, said the teacher. “Now if I gave you two rabbits, then two more rabbits, then two more rabbits. How many would you have?”
“Seven, Teacher,” John said.
“Why seven?” the teacher asked angrily.
