北国风光，
千里冰封（fēng)， 
万里雪飘。
望长城内外，
惟 wéi余莽mǎng莽； 
大河上下， 
顿dùn失滔 (tāo)滔 。 
山舞(wǔ)银蛇(shé)，
原驰 (chí)蜡 (là)象，
欲(yù)与天公试比高。
须(xū)晴日， 
看红装素 (sù) 裹 (guǒ)， 
分外妖 (yāo)娆(ráo)。

江山如此多娇 (jiāo)，
引无数英雄竞 (jìng)折腰(yāo)。 
惜秦 (qín)皇汉武(wǔ)， 
略 (luè)输(shū)文采； 
唐宗(zōng)宋祖， 
稍(shāo) 逊(xùn)风骚(sāo) 。 
一代天骄(jiāo)， 
成吉思汗，
只识弯弓射(shè) 大雕(diāo)。 
俱(jù)往矣(yǐ)，
数(shǔ)风流人物，
还看今朝 (zhāo) 。

North country scene:
A hundred leagues locked in ice, 
A thousand leagues of whirling snow,
Both sides of the Great Wall
One single white immensity.
The yellow river's swift current 
Is stilled from end to end.
The mountains dance like silver snakes 
And the highlands charge like wax-hued elephants, 
Vying with heaven in stature,
On a fine day ,
the land, Clad in white , adorned in red, Grows more enchanting.

This land so rich in beauty
Has made countless heroes bow in homage. 
But alas!
Qin Shihuang and Han Wudi Were lacking in litrary grace,
And Tang Taizong and Song Taizu; 
Had little poetrty in their souls;
And Genghis khan,
Proud son of Heaven for a day,
Knew only shooting eagles, bow outstretched. All are past and gone!
Look to this age along.
