Swimming
Amy: Hey Brian, you got to teach me swimming.
Brain: Sure. I’m pretty good at it.
Amy: What style?
Brain: I can do front craw(自由式) or free style. I can also do frog(蛙泳). And a little butterfly(蝶泳).
Amy: Wow, you’re really good. I can’t wait to learn.
Brain: Can you put your head into the water?
Amy: Yes, I can, but not for long.
Brain: That’s OK. Do you know how to breathe?
Amy: No. If I do, I can swim, right?
Brain: Right. It’s not as hard as you think. If you’re willing to try, I can guarantee(保证) you to swim in a month.
Amy: Really? I can’t wait to get started.
Brain: Let’s go tonight.
Amy: Yes!
One of the differences between the Chinese kids and American kids is that most American kids swim, but most Chinese kids don’t, especially(特别) in the North of China. It is party because what China does not have many swimming pools, but it also reflects(反映) the way of Chinese parenting(养育). The Chinese parents do not want the children to learn swimming. They are afraid something bad may happen.
In the U.S., there are so many swimming classes, and the classes are well organized(组织). Learning swimming is much safer(安全). -
