The Crow and the Pitcher

Long long ago, there was a Crow. He is perishing(v.死亡) with thirst . He was hoping to find water. Suddenly, he saw a pitcher(n. 水罐). So he flew to it with delight(n. 快乐,高兴).

　When he reached it, he discovered that it contained so little water. So he could not possibly get at it. He tried every means to reach the water, but all his efforts were in vain（徒然）.

　At last he collected many stones and dropped them one by one into the pitcher. The water rised, and he could reach it. At lase he saved his life.

　So we always say:“Necessity is the mother of invention.”
