The Spring Festival

    The oldest and most important festival in China is the Spring Festival. It's also called Chinese New Year.
    People do a lot of things to prepare for Spring Festival. We clean house thoroughly （彻底地） , buy new clothes, make paper cuts（剪纸） and hung up lanterns . We also decorate （装饰） doors with vertical scrolls of characters （春联） on red paper. It helps us to seek good luck.
    On New Year's Eve we usually have a large family dinner. In the south of China people eat rice cake, while in the north people eat dumpling. All people like dragon dance, and most stay up till midnight to celebrate the festival.
