    Unit 11 I want to be a painter

    1. 教学目标

    1. 知识目标:

    1)学习并掌握以下单词和词组:

    when, grow up, be good at, painter, sick, nurse, cook, food


    2)学习并掌握以下句型:

    What do you want to be when you grow up?

    I’m good at English, so I want to be an English teacher.


    1. 语言技能目标:

    1. 能够询问对方将来想要从事什么职业并回答;

    2. 能表达自己擅长某个学科;

    3. 能用本课句型进行交流。


    1. 情感态度目标:

    培养学生从小热爱生活,树立自己理想的人生观,对思维的开拓,并提高与人交流合作的技巧。


    二、教学重、难点

    1、重点:

    掌握各种已学或新学职业的英文表达,对它们进行问答、介绍,并能在具体的情景中运用。


    2、难点:

    能描述自己所擅长的学科或喜好,和各种职业的特点或社会职能。


    三、教学方法

    1、导入法:

    由情景、歌曲和故事导入新单词和新句型,以加深学生对该单词和句型的认知,以达到更好的教学效果。


    2、游戏教学法:

    用游戏形式复习单词、句型,练习新语言点,使学生寓学于乐,在轻松、愉快的气氛中自然而然地获得英语知识与技能,也能增加课堂趣味性,使学生更能专注投入到课堂中来。


    3、交际法:

    在师生、生生的交流中,使学生能够考虑到进行交流的人们的作用和地位,考虑到所涉及的题目和情景,从而能恰如其分地运用语言。


    4、活动教学法:

    按照不同阶段来设计、布置情景,提供材料,让学生积极参与自由操作、观察思考。通过让学生自己调查、发现,得出答案,激发学生的学习兴趣,更能吸引学生的学习注意力。


    5、合作学习法:

    让学生通过参加pair work活动和team work活动,给予学生练习语言并互相学习的条件和机会,并从中提高学生与人交流合作的技巧。


    四、教学过程

    1. Warm up and review: (4min)

    (1) Let’s sing along: I want to be...

    I want to be a teacher. I want to be a teacher. I want to be a teacher when I grow up. …… (P66)

    (2) Changing the word “teacher” --- “doctor, manager, driver” to sing the song. (Review some words of occupation.)

    2. Leading in:

    (1) PPT展示出自己小时候和长大后的照片,引出新的单词、短语和句型,进行操练:(7min)

    when, grow up → when I grow up → I want to be ...when I grow up.

    左板书:when

    grow up

    右板书:I want to be ...when I grow up.

    T: When I was a child, I have a dream. I want to be a teacher when I grow up. What about you? (给一些职业提示图)

    S: I want to be a ... when I grow up. (提示学生要把整句话说完整。)

    (学生说出以前所学过的职业,代入句中领读,以此复习旧单词;老师最后在领读中引入新单词nurse, cook, painter让学生拼读,并操练句型。)

    (2) 让学生听录音,根据PPT提示,扮演角色,并补充对话:3min

    (Xiaoling, Mike, Jiamin, Janet)

    Ms White: What do you want to be when you grow up?

    Xiaoling: I want to be when I gown up.

    (3) 通过Xiaoling的话,引入 be good at (6min)

    T: Listening again, why does Xiaoling wants to be an English teacher when she grows up?

    播发录音:“I’m good at English, so I want to be an English teacher.”

    S: She’s good at English. (用PPT的提示图引导学生说出答案。)

    左板书:be good at

    T: She’s good at English. I’m good at drawing. What about you?

    PPT展示曾经学过的一些动作图,引导学生说出更多自己的强项。)

    S1: I’m good at...

    S2: ……

    ……

    Game: Let’s chain. (老师先作解释,再不懂的可以请学生做一个互动示范。)

    T: I’m good at English.

    S1: She’s good at English. I’m good at Chinese.

    S2: He’s good at Chinese. I’m good at singing.

    ……


    3. Learning the dialogue: (12min)

    (1) Listen to the dialogue, and find out the new words.

    (复习已学的新单词,并引出未学的food, sick,进行拼读与操练。)

    (2) Read the dialogue after the VCD, then the teacher.

    (3) Read the dialogue together

    (4) Read the dialogue in roles.

    (5) Read the dialogue in group.


    4. Development: “wishing tree” (8min)

    (1) Show Mike’s dream in PPT.

    --- My name is Mike. I’m nine years old. I’m a student. I want to be a painter when I grow up.

    (Show a “wishing tree” on the blackboard.)

    T: Now write down your name, your age, your job and your dream on the little paper. And then, put it on this “wishing tree” like Mike’s paper. (T put the paper of Mike’s dream on the “wishing tree”.)

    (2) Ss complete the paper, and read out what they write for whole class. Finally, they put their papers to the “wishing tree”.
