    Unit 5 Faster, higher and stronger

    教学目标:

    1. 在奥运会的情境下,学习新单词event, hurdle, race, team, second, minute, medal,能理解词义、熟练运用。

    2. 在奥运会的情境下,了解奥运会的项目,并说出自己最喜欢的项目。

    3. 在学校运动会的情境下,熟练运用句型“My favourite event is … I can … I am … ”

    4. 在奥运会的情境下,了解各类运动员,例如:runner, basketball player等等,并说出句型 “He’s/She’s the best … in China.”

    教学重难点:

    1. 重点:能听说读新单词,准确说出项目名称,能介绍自己最喜欢的项目,说出自己喜欢的理由。

    2. 难点:新单词的发音,尤其是minute, event, racemedal .能用英文说出短跑的成绩,例如: I can run 100m race in 8.6 seconds.

    教学准备:视频,图片,课件

    教学过程:

    I.Talking

    1. Watch a video about Olympic Games.

    2. Talk freely : PPT shows a mind map about Olympic Games according to Sx’s answers.

    T: What is it about ?

    Sx: It’s about Olympic Games

    T: You are right. Look at the word, I can think of ‘medals’ What about you ?

    Sx: I can think of …

    II. Teaching

    1. Lead in : Teacher looks at the mind map and introduce the motto of Olympic Games. Write the title of unit 5 on the board.

    T: Do you know the motto of Olympic Games ?

    Sx : Yes. It is ‘Faster, higher and stronger’

    1. About Olympic Games :

    PPT shows the pictures of events and introduce them briefly.

    T: Here are some events. Can you tell me what is it ?

    Sx: It’s 100race/110m hurdles/the long jump …(学习新单词,纠音)

    Guide Ss talk about the favourite event.

    T: What is your favourite event ?

    Sx : My favourite event is … / I like … It’s fun/easy/brave/hot。(学习新句型,注意favourite , event 的发音)

    1. About sport stars:

    PPT shows the pictures of sport stars. Encourage Sx to talk about them.

    T: These sport stars are good at sports. Who are they ? Can you guess ?

    Sx: He’s/She’s XXX.

    He’s/She’s the best …in China/in the world.(了解best 和项目运动员的英文名称。)

    备注:在谈论人物过程中,适时地学习单词meal, team,second,minute

    .Talk in pairs.

     A:What is your favourite event ?

     B:My favourite is ...

       i like XXX  He's/She's the ...

        How about you ?

     A: ...

    III.Training

    1. Listen to the dialogues.

    2. Talk about Sports Day:

     ①Introdue the Sports Day of our school.Teacher divides Ss into different teams.They can name their teams.

     Introduce your team:  

    (入场仪式音乐响起)

    A: I'm XXX. My favourite event is ...

    It's ...  I can ....  I am...

    B:...

    C: ...

    D: ...

    (Together): We are Team ...

               We are No.1. 

    备注:教师指导学生自创英文口号、动作,鼓舞士气,营造运动会的氛围。
