Song Qingling

      Song Qingling was born into a rich Christian family which played an important role in Chinese polities in the first half of the 20^th century.She and her two sisters had a good education.She went to study in Georgia,USA.In 1915she married Dr Sun Yat-sen,founder of the Republic of China.

      After her husband died in 1925,Song qingling supported the Communist Party and the revolution,even though most of her family were members of the Kuomintang.Later,she was  made an honorary president of the People’s Pepublic of China.She spent her later years working for welfare projects in China,leading the Women’s Federaton,.Futhermore,she was also a great advocate of civil rights,democracy and peace.
