Making model planes is Mark's hobby. He has made about seven now. Yesterday, Mark had some free time and his father said, “You've just mended your big plane, haven't you? Why don't you go and try it?”

    Mark rode his bike to a park near his house. There was no one else there. Mark was glad. He liked being alone. He started flying his plane at once. He made it fly twice round the park. It flew beautifully in the blue sky. It even looked a little like a real plane. Mark was very happy.

    Then a strong wind blew the plane into a tree. Mark decided to climb the tree to get it back. He climbed higher and higher. Soon, he was very near his plane. The tree was not very strong at the top and it was moving a lot in the wind. Mark began to feel worried. He sat and thought for a moment. He didn't want to climb higher, but he didn't want to give up and leave his plane either. He reached farther out. Crack! Part of the tree and Mark and his plane were falling through the air.

    For a few moments, mark felt nothing. Then a pain began to move up his leg. He tried to stand up, but he fell back onto the grass at once. What could he do? He was alone in the park and he was hurt very badly. His plane and he had an idea. In his shirt, he had a yellow pen. In large letters, he wrote HELP! on both sides of the plane. He made the plane fly round the park again and again. Then, he heard a voice. Someone was shouting. Slowly he brought the plane nearer. The shouts got louder. A man was coming after the plane! He knew the voice! His dad was coming to take him home!
