Peter: Hey, Wendy! How is your summer holiday?
Wendy: Very good. I went traveling with my parents. It was fun. But I thinkit’s time to focus on study now.

Peter: Yep. I should make some changes since I didn’t do very well last term, especially English.
Wendy: I see. So have you already made any study plans? 

Peter: Yeah, of course. First of all, I’ll try to concentrate in class. You know, listen carefully to Mr. Wilson and take notes of the important points. 
Wendy: That sounds good. But you should also speak more in and out of class, be more active, the language needs to be used after all.

Peter: That’s good point. I was a bit passive last term, because I was afraid of making mistakes. But mistakes are always inevitable(不可避免的) at first in practice. And, no practice, no progress. 
Wendy: Totally agree. 

Peter: Besides, I’ll finish my homework on time. That may be easy for you, but not for me. Ha-ha!
Wendy: It seems that you really make up your mind to study harder.

Peter: Yeah. And I know it could be difficult since I’ve left behind the class so much. Do you know any effective ways to improve English? 
Wendy: In my experience, listening and speaking are very important. They can help you build up a “sense of grammar”. I think it’s a good idea to listen to English radio every day. And talking to a foreigner, like your foreign teacher, will help you improve quickly.
