Scotland is bigger than Wales. It's in the north of Great Britain. Scotland has a population of about 5 million. Like Wales, there are mountains and lakes in Scotland, but the mountains are taller and the lakes are bigger. Ben Nevis is about 1,343 metres high, and Loch Ness (lakes in Scotland are called "lochs" ) is about 36 kilometres long.

The capital of Scotland is Edinburgh. It's in the south of the country. It has a population of nearly half a million. It's a historic and beautiful city in Scotland and it's at least 1,000 years old. About four million tourists visit Scotland every year. They come to see its historic buildings and beautiful parks.
