WHEN the lead singer of Shin (Su Jianxin) left to go solo (单飞) about a year ago, the rock band suffered a huge blow.
But the other members: guitarist Chris, drummer Michael, keyboard player Tomi, and bass player Xiaohua still believed in themselves. They stayed together and didn't change the band's name.
"We never thought our friends would leave us, not after all we'd been through so much together," said Chris, "But we chose to stick with our rock dream."
Recently the band were in Beijing to promote their new single The Heart Never Dies (《不死心还在》). The power of their singing shows how strongly they want to keep the band alive.u They're also looking all over the world for a new singer. "We want someone with a special voice and personality," said Michael. "Anyone with talent is welcome to have a try."
Fans came to welcome the band and show their support. The loss of Shin doesn't seem to have affected their passion (热情). "I have loved Shin since they started five years ago," says Wu Hao, a 15-year-old boy. "They need to be together to make their best music."
"The band's song writing and great live performances (表演) mean more to me than Shin's high voice."
