这里的“Why don’t you do…？”是用来表示提出某种建议，而不是询问为什么不做某事的原因。”Why not”与之同义。如：Why not take a walk in the park? 何不在公园里散散步？ 
write sth. down = write down sth. 写下，记下。注意：如果sth. 是人称代词宾格，那么只能用write sth. down的形式。如：Why don’t you write it down? （正确）Why don’t you write down it?（错误）

2. It’s a good idea to check your vocabulary notebook every day. 每天检查你的词汇笔记，这是个很好的办法。 
It’s a good idea to…表示“……是好的办法”；这里的it是形式主语，真正的主语是后面的动词不定式。

3. How about listening to the radio and reading a newspaper in English? But try not to translate every word. 听收音和读英语报纸怎么样？但别试图翻译每一个词。
“how about”和“try not to”均用来提出某种建议。但注意“how about”后接动词的-ing形式，而“try not to”/“try to”后面接动词原形。

“do you think”为插入语，不影响句子结构。“advice for doing”表示“做……的建议”。

“forget to do”，表示“忘记要做某事”，注意与“forget doing”相区分，“forget doing”表示“忘记做了某事。”即前者表示“因为忘了而没有做某事”，后者表示“事情虽然做了，但却忘记自己做过”。
