Do you want to improve your English? First and foremost, start talking, and practice as loud as possible, as clearly as possible, as quickly as possible and as beautifully as possible. That's the most important ingredient of your success. Are you active in your class? Only some of you are brave enough to raise your hands to act or to talk about your opinions in class. I know this is because you are not sure of yourself. You can't express what you want to say. What can we do?

First, don't be afraid of making mistakes. You are a learner. 
Second, practice speaking by reading aloud. But don't read out aloud like young monks. Read with feelings and pay attention to the words and sentences the writer uses. Learn from the writer the ways he expresses himself and try to do the same yourself. 
Third, when you read, read as loudly as possible, as clearly as possible and as quickly as possible. That's the way you force your mouth to move--to improve your speaking ability. Also you can use a watch to time the seconds you take to read the sentence, or the minutes you take to read the paragraph. Force yourself to read in a shorter time. You can have a competition with your partner. It's very interesting. You may fail this time, but you may be the winner next time. 
Fourth, maybe you are already able to recite many texts, but to you, all the passages are written by others. They are far from you. My idea is to put yourself in. Recite your texts or wonderful passages you find as if you werethe writer, as if you yourself were talking, correctly and beautifully in English, about what you see, what you hear, what you find and what has happened to you. And this can develop your interest in learning. 
Fifth, try to improve your pronunciation. If you can speak as an Englishman or an American, you will be proud of yourself and it will make you speak more in and out of class. How can we improve our pronunciation? My advice is thatwhen you are pronouncing vowels, put your tongue in the right position and practice till you are satisfied(满意).
