Mars Mystery

On the day 1, we have now landed. We haven't yet opened the doors or left the spacecraft. The planet looks like a desert on Earth. It will be dark soon, so we will stay in the spacecraft. The scientists with us are in a hurry to go out and explore, but we do not know what we will discover, so we will be careful.

On the day 2, we have travelled about 2 km in every direction from the spacecraft, but we have not discovered anything interesting yet. There are some mountains about 20 km away. Tomorrow most of the team will go there. I will stay on the spacecraft alone.

On the day 3, the scientists have reached the mountains. They have already discovered a lake. There is some water left on Mars. Maybe there is some life. I have found some special stones. I have not seen any like them before.

On the day 4, the scientists have not come back yet. The stones I found yesterday have grown larger in the night. I do not understand how this can happen.

On the day 5, the team in the mountains has not yet contacted me. Have they lost or broken their radio-phone? This morning the stones were even bigger and a different colour. I have taken them outside. I do not want them on the spacecraft. Tonight the wind is blowing and the air is full of sand.

On the day 6, the weather has been very bad. The storm has not yet finished. I cannot go outside. I received a short message from one scientist. "Go, go, go," is all he said. The stones I put outside are shining. I don't know what has happened.
