Feng Ru - China Earliest Plane Designer（设计师）

Today, our planes can fly in the sky freely and our spaceship can fly to the space. But at the beginning of the 20th century, airplane is a new thing. Only a few people can make it. 
Feng Ru was one of the greatest plane designers and makers at that time. 
　　On December 15, 1883, Feng Ru was born in Guangdong Province. When he was only 12 years old, he went to America to make a living. He worked in a factory as a worker. In the evening he went to learn English and study the mechanics（机械）. In 1907, with the help of local Chinese, he set up a factory to make planes. But his first flight failed. Feng Ru didn’t give up. In the January of 1909, he made another plane. This time he failed again. Feng Ru borrowed a pigeon（鸽子） and studied it for a long time. On September 21,1909, his third test flight succeeded! Later that year, he won the first place in the World Flight Competition（世界飞行比赛）. 
　　At that time, China was in wars. In order to help the revolution（革命）, Feng Ru returned to Guangzhou in 1911. He took back two planes and set up a factory to make machines and planes. On August 25, 1912, he made a flight near Guangzhou. But the plane fell to the ground and he died.

中国第一位飞机设计师 —— 冯如

今天，人类在航天方面成绩斐然，飞机上天，宇宙飞船飞入太空。可是在20世纪初，飞机还是个新发明，能制造飞机的人寥寥无几。
冯如是当时最杰出的设计师之一。
　　冯如出生于1883年12月15日，祖籍广东省恩平县。12岁时，为了谋生，随亲戚前往美国做工。白天，他在工厂辛苦劳作，晚上，他刻苦学习英语，研究机械。1907年，在当地华侨的资助下，他建了一个飞机制造厂。但是他的第一架飞机试飞失败了。冯如没有放弃。1909年2月，第二架飞机试飞又失败了。冯如借了邻居的鸽子仔细研究，对飞机结构加以改进。1909年9月21日，第三次试飞成功了！在当年的世界飞行比赛中，冯如击败各国对手夺冠。
　　为了报效祖国，1911年，冯如带了两架飞机回国, 建立了工厂生产飞机和机械。1912年8月25日，冯如在广州附近做飞行表演时不幸失事遇难。
