Dialogue14

Sally and Janet are friends. They don't know much English. They are visiting London . They are at the gate of their hotel. They are going to visit a museum( 博物馆 ).
Sally: Do you think we can find the way back to the hotel?
Janet: Let's write down the name of the street on a piece of paper.
Sally: OK, look! Is that the name of the street on the wall of the hotel?
Janet: I think so. Let me write it down ‘O-N-E W-A-Y Street.'
Sally& Janet : Excuse me, could you tell us the way to the museum?
Policeman: Certainly. Just go up this street and turn left at the second crossing. The third building from the corner is the museum. You can't miss it.
Sally: Oh, let me see. Go down this street, turn left at the second crossing. And the museum is the third building from the corner. Am I right?
Policeman: Yes, that's right.
Sally& Janet: Thank you very much. Bye-bye.
Policeman: You are welcome. Bye-bye.
Later they want to go back to their hotel. But they don't know the way.
Sally: Excuse me. Could you tell me how to get back to our hotel? Here is the name of the street.
Man: ‘One Way Street?' That isn't a street name!
