One day, a cat was lying lazily in the lovely hot sun. She felt too lazy even to get herself a drink. I'll make that monkey get me a drink, she thought. So...       "Please give me back my tail," said the monkey. "Only if you get me some milk," said the cat. She pulled off the monkey's tail and wouldn't give it back.      So the monkey went to the cow. "Please give some milk to the cat," he said. "Then the cat will give me back my tail. "Only if you get me some water." said the farmer.      So the monkey went to the river. "Please give some water to the farmer," he said. "Then the farmer will give some grass to the cow, the cow will give some milk to the cat and the cat will give me back my tail." "Only if you get me some rain," said the river.      So the monkey went to the clouds. "Please give some rain to the river," he said. "Then the river will give some water to the farmer, the farmer will give some grass to the cow, the cow will give some milk to the cat and the cat will give me back my tail."      So the monkey went to the wind. "Please give some wind to the clouds," he said. "Then the clouds will give the river some rain, the river will give some water to the farmer, the farmer will give some grass to the cow, the cow will give some milk to the cat and the cat will give me back my tail."      Now the wind had always been able to make the world dance, but he had never been able to make the monkey dance. So the wind said, "Only if you dance for me."      The clouds gave the river some rain... The river gave the farmer some water...      The farmer gave the cow some grass... The cow gave the cat some milk...      The cat gave the monkey back his tail... and the monkey danced for joy all the way home.      As for the cat, she had her drink at last,but she was still not content.       "Now,where did that lovely hot sun go?" asked the cat, as she looked up at the sky. So the cat went inside,tired and unhappy, because there was no longer a lovely hot sun to lie in!
