Dad : How was the school sports Day today?

Mary : We had lots of fun. My class won six medals. We had two first place medals and four second place medals.

Dad : Wow! That was very good.

Mary: Yes. We only had one first place medal and three second place medals last

year. We won more medals this year than last year.

Dad : Congratulations! What about the other two classes? Did they do well?

Mary: Class 6A didn't do very well. Their best runners and jumpers were sick today; so they didn't win any first place medals. They only won two second place medals.

Dad : Oh. Did they win more medals last year?

Mary: Yes. They got one first place and two second place medals last year.

Dad : Tell me about Class 6C . Did they have good results?

Mary: They won four first place and five second place medals last year. This year,

they won more medals. They had five first place and five second place.

Dad : So Class 6C won the most medals . They were in first place. 6B was in second

place, and 6A was in third place.

Mary: Yes, 6C is always in first place and we're always in second place.

Dad : But your class was always in first place in singing and writing contests.

Mary: That's true!
