The Great Wall

There are walls in our classroom. There are walls at home. When it is rainy, we can get into the building built up with walls. Walls can protect us.

Do you know the longest wall in the world? Yes, it’s the Great Wall in China. Ancient Chinese began to built the Great Wall to defend the enemies. It is 50,000 meters long. Astronauts can see the Great Wall in the space without a telescope.

The Great Wall is a wonder of the world. We are very proud to have it in our motherland.

Splendid China is the biggest model park in the world. It has models of famous Chinese buildings and places. The longest wall in the world, the Great Wall, is here but it is much smaller than the real one. You can take a photo but you can not climb this wall! In the park, you can see rock paintings, beautiful old trees, rivers and mountains. You can also see Potala Palace- the highest palace in the world- and you won’t need a plane to get there!

Mount Qomolangma

Mount Qomolangma is the highest mountain in the world. It is also windy and cold. The wind is fastest at the top. The wind can go 285 km/hr there. That’s faster than a typhoon! The wind is fastest in December. It is not the coldest place in the world but it is very cold. In January, it is usually -30 selsius degree but the wind makes it colder. It can be -70 selsius degree. That’s very cold! In winter, three metres of snow can fall in one day!

Mount Qomolangma is very dangerous but I want to go there and climb it. It is very beautiful. I want to see the top of the world.
