Dialogue6
Alice: John, we have learned a lot of information about outer space. Where do you want to travel most?
John: I want to go to Mars.
Alice: Why?
John: Because Mars' rocky surface is the only planet's surface that can be seen from Earth. And there is some proof on its surface that it once had creatures living on it.
Alice: But how much do you know about Mars?
John: Well, Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun. The planet is 141.6 million miles away from the Sun at the most. Its average distance from Earth is 3.5 million miles. Its diameter is 4,223 miles, which is smaller than Earth. Mars is actually the third smallest planet.
Alice: Wow, you really learn a lot about it. But do you know the length of day on Mars?
John: The length of day is longer than Earth. To be exact, the length is twenty-four hours, thirty-seven minutes, and twenty-three seconds.
Alice: What about the temperature?
John: The lowest temperature ever recorded on Mars was -191 degrees Fahrenheit. The highest was -24 degrees. I am looking forward to going there.
