Li Ye was in the UK for two years with his parents. He came back to Guangzhou last August.

Li Ye: Hello, uncle. Nice to see you! When did you come to Guangzhou?

Uncle: I came this morning. Well, Li Ye, you’re much taller than when I visited you in the UK last year. How old are you now?

Li Ye: I’m 13. I had my birthday last week.

Uncle: Did you have a party?

Li Ye: No, I didn’t. But some friends and I went to the cinema.

Uncle: I never go to the cinema now. Tell me. What’s your new school like?

Li Ye: Very good. I like it very much.

Uncle: What subjects are you studying?

Li Ye: Oh, let me see. Chinese, maths, English, P.E... What else? Oh yes, we have music and art, of course.

Uncle: Is that the same as in the UK?

Li Ye: Nearly(差不多), but we didn’t study Chinese there—except for Chinese school on Sunday.

    Uncle: How about homework?

Li Ye: We got a lot of homework there, but not as much as here. I have to work much harder now.

Uncle: Never mind! I had to work hard, too. And it didn’t hurt me!
