I Want to Be a Doctor

　When I was nine years old, I was laid up（卧病在床） for six weeks for a serious illness. I had to take medicine everyday at that time. My younger sister looked at me and said that, “I want to be a doctor when I grow up.”

　　 “Why?”I asked.

　　“Because I don’t want to see you suffering（忍受） so much.When I see you are in pain, but I can’t help you, I am so sad”, my sister whispered（抽泣） with tears in her eyes.

　　“Oh, my dear. You are so sweet.” I gave her a big hug（拥抱）.

　　“When I am a doctor, I will help people cure a variety of diseases. Is that right?”

　　“Of course, you will.”
