Different Invitation

Invitations differ between China and the West. 
Firstly（首先）, In the West, both the husband and wife will be invited for dinner in the evening. But in China, it's a little different. It’s quite common（普通的;常见的） that only the husband or wife will be invited to a meal with colleagues（同事,同行） or friends. 
Secondly(其次), there are business invitations, and it will only invite one's colleagues and/or clients(顾客,客户), and not spouses（夫妻）.
