Lesson 14

教学目标：

1、要求学生能够听、说、读、写本课的单词。

2、能够借助图片、关键词等基本信息听懂关于动物的话题。

3、能够运用本课所学句型谈论有关动物。

教学重点：

1. 词汇：hummingbird ,centimeter ,kilometer ,strong ,wing

giraffe ,meter ,ton ,heavy

2.句型：How tall is it ? It’s …meters tall .

How heavy is it ? How fast is it ? as …as...

教学难点：

1.掌握词汇：hummingbird centimeter kilometer giraffe.

2.用as…as …来描述动物的某一特征

教学过程

1. Revision :

（1）Where did you go last weekend ?

I went to a zoo .

What kind of animal did you see there ？

I saw …

这组对话的句型都是原来学过的内容，找几组学生用学过的动物词汇进行对话练习。

【设计意图：设计与本课教学密切相关的问答句，以此更顺畅的引入本节新课的教学。】

（2）Revision：

a.出示卡片来复习上节课学过的动物的词汇（快速认读，闪词抢读，reptile ,bird ,fish ,insect ,mammal ,crocodile ,ostrich ,penguin ,shark ,whale ,butterfly ,hippo, zebra , lion以上单词进行分类

b. 出示PPT关于动物的图片来复习句型：

What kind of animal are＿＿＿ ?

They’re＿＿＿.

2. New Lesson：

（1）Teaching new words

出示hummingbird 单词卡,通过手势帮学生认知单词意思。It’s a bird. It’s as big as my thumb .

hummingbird -----分音节----hum-ming—bird

giraffe---分音节-gi—ra--ffe

meter –领读—男女生读

kilometer —kilo—meter

centimeter—centi—meter（让学生观察这两个单词都含有meter）

wing ---------领读—分组读

ton---示范读--------竖排读

heavy----导读—横排读

(让学生同桌间相互练读。)

出示相关词卡复习今天所学单词

（2）Sentences：

今天几位小朋友参观了动物园的动物，不同的动物有自己的特点。我们如何来表达它们的年龄，出生的，身高，体重和速度呢？

出示PPT

Where is …from ?

How old is it ?

How tall is it ?

How heavy is it ?

How fast is it ?

其中前三个问题是学生已经掌握的，带学生复习即可。

后两个讲解句意，根据课本图片做替换联系巩固。

注意：kilometer =km centimeter=cm ton=t meter=m

(3)Using the students’ book

Play the tape (2-----3 times )

领读课文句型-------找学生读--------自由读-------学生分角色

3. 拓展听读：Part C 内容及听读材料Reading 1 ， 2
