CALL FOR PAPERS
The 4th Global Chinese
Conference on Computers in Education
(Home Page: http://comp.nus.edu.sg/~gcccey2k)
Teaching and Learning in
the New Millennium Singapore, May 29 - 31, 2000 Republic of Singapore
The rapid advancement in
information technology, has brought forth the urgent needs of revision of pedagogical
theories and methods in education. The common challenges facing educationists
in this new Millenium, based on their accumulated practical experiences and
strong theoretical knowledge, are in constructing new educational models to
fully exploit the technological advantages. The question is how to build theoretical
frameworks that can integrate new resources, new technologiesand new pedagogies,
so as to enhance the professional standards of teaching. The Fourth Global Chinese
Conference on Computing in Education will once again become the centre for such
discussions. The GCCCE
conference series was initiated
by a Steering Committee comprisingresearchers from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong,
Macau, Singapore and U.S.A. in 1997. The first conference was held in Guangzhou,
the second in Hong Kong, and the third in Macau in 1999. Due to the overwhelming
support of participants all over the world, it has become an important forum
for sharing and discussion of recent research and development efforts in making
technology work for education, especially in the Asian communities.
This year, there is a special
focus on the support on Chinese language learning.
