Unit 5 I’m skating (Let’s play & Let’s talk)

【教学内容】
本课是广州市小学英语口语第三册Unit 5 I’m skating的第三课时,学生在前面的学习中已经掌握了常用的动作单词和短语,如: fly a kite, skate, skip rope, ride a bike, swim等和句型:What are you doing? I am…。本节课的教学内容是以教材提供的主题句型“What are you doing? I am…”“Are you …? Yes, I am /No, I am not.”为起点,通过看图说话和听、读、演故事等活动,使学生能够就正在进行的活动进行英语交际,并能够通过扩展阅读提高听说能力和用英语进行交际的能力。
【设计理念】
语觉论认为,语言的根本目的是交际,培养学生语言能力的最佳途径也是交际。本课正是在语觉论的这一思想指导下,以“言语交际为中心”,借助多媒体网络提供的多种资源,以看图对话,自主学习和听、读、演故事为突破口,使学生在有丰富语境和真实的交际情境中培养听说能力和综合语言运用能力。
【教学目标】
(1) 能认读和运用有关动作的词汇。
(2) 能运用词汇和句型“What are you doing? I am…”“Are you …? Yes, I am /No, I am not.”等进行交际。
(3) 通过PPT方式和扩展阅读提供的图片和关键词句,逐步积累和认读词句。
(4) 通过师生问答、俩俩对话、角色扮演等多种言语交际活动培养和提高口语交际能力和在日常生活中迁移运用英语的能力;
(5) 通过听对话、故事,使学生在语篇的听读中增强语感,提高听力,并在该过程中逐步培养运用现代信息技术辅助学习的意识。

(1)扩展听读的资源:三个故事Dialogue 1 what is my father doing? / Dialogue 5 The alien/ Children’s Day
(2)辅助言语交际课件:PPT
(3)动物头饰:Andy, Bobby, Amy, Koto
【活动过程】


Step 1 Warm up:Free talk
1. T asks Ss questions. (T指Teacher, Ss指students。下同)
How are you today? What can you do?
Can you ride a bike? Do you like sausages?
What’s for breakfast/lunch/dinner?
What are you wearing today? What is…wearing today?
What time is it?
2. Ss talk freely in pairs.

师生之间的自由交谈既可以调节课堂气氛,拉近师生间的心理距离,又可以帮助学生复习巩固所学的知识,为接下来的学生俩俩说提供方向。学生间自由交谈是对语言的输出和使用的过程。


Step 2 Revision
1. Sing a song: I’m having a happy time

这首歌曲与本节课教授的内容有密切的关系,让学生演唱既能激发学习兴趣,营造英语氛围,又能马上进入主题。


2. T shows PowerPoint to ask Ss questions
Hello. What are you doing?
3.Practice
Ss work in pairs to practice this drill while looking at the PPT.

在此环节中学生通过俩俩对话复习句型和动作方面的单词和短语,为学生提供了说话的材料,也为进一步学习句型作铺垫。


Step 3 Presentation
1. Play a guessing game to teach the new drill.
T: Are you skipping?
S: No, I’m not. / Yes, I am.
T:What are you doing?
S: I’m running.

通过游戏自然地引出新句型,既可以提高学生学习的兴趣,又可以让学生在自然真实的情景中运用语言、进行交际。
2. Present the drill on PPT.
3. Ss play games to practice the drills in pairs.
4. Story time
1) T shows the head masks of four characters (Andy, Bobby, Amy, Koto), asks the students to say the names. Then T says something about the story.
T: Who are they? Koto likes dancing very much. Let’s see how Koto is dancing.

展示课件,学生听读故事。通过故事的学习巩固本课的知识点,体验语言的连贯性。以便于学生对扩展阅读的内容的学习。

2)Ss watch the story again and follow to act out the story.
3) Teach the new word and key sentence: poor, You’re kidding.
4) T acts out the story with Ss together.
5) Ss act out the story in groups.

通过story的学习,让学生把story里面所学过的句型综合运用起来。而且story的趣味性很强,可以调动学生阅读的兴趣。

 

Step 4 Extensive reading
Ss read the stories :Dialogue 1 what is my father doing? / Reading 1 It’s raining/Dialogue 5 The alien/ Children’s Day
T:Here are other good stories. Let’s enjoy them.

根据本节课的教学内容,教师选了符合学生认知水平的四个对话,增强学生的语感、扩大知识面,同时也复习巩固了已学的内容。

Step 5 Picture talking
1. T shows a picture, and then sets an example with a student.
2. Show the Ss other pictures. Ask them to choose one to talk.
提供2幅看图说话的图片,学生在Key points 的引导下进行自主说、俩俩说。
Key points:Look. What is he/she doing? He/She is …
What is the boy/girl wearing? He/She is wearing…
What time is it? It’s…

此环节根据学生已掌握的知识,围绕屏幕上展示的图片进行俩俩对话。这样,可以使学生将已学的知识和新学的词、句有机结合,从而实现语言的积累性发展,并逐步掌握灵活运用语言的能力。


Step 6 Sum up
